Samuel Sudhakar Raju, Mandapati left a lucrative career in telugu cine industry and went on to work in international NGO Christian Children Fund and later on in National Alliance Mission, Guwahati Assam as director. It was during this period that the Holy Spirit revealed the plan that the Lord had for bro. Samuel, to take to His work. After much prayer and communion with the Lord, bro. Samuel and his better half Niveditha founded ‘Sarah Ministries’ on the 2nd of January 2008, primarily to propagate the message of love and peace as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Sarah Ministries thirsts to draw, Lord willing, as many people as it can, near to Jesus by spreading the Gospel and also by doing good deeds. Objectives of Sarah Ministries • To propagate the good news of Gospels as mentioned in the Bible, so as to promote love, peace and brotherhood in the community. • To take up programs for the welfare of the poor and needy, so that they are provided a chance for a better bargain in the opportunities offered by life. • To build hospitals, schools, orphanages and widow homes, so as to provide the basic necessities required for a decent living, for the poor, needy, orphans, widows and community at large. • To cater to the children at risk, especially those living on the streets and slums, provide them with shelter, medical facilities, basic amenities and alternative educational opportunities. • To encourage formation of self help groups [SHG’s] so that the community will develop economically, socially and politically. • To advocate for the rights of the poor and needy especially women and children, so that their self respect is safe guarded and they are able to harness the bounty of opportunities that are available to them. Philosophy behind the Objectives Sarah Ministries draws it’s objectives from the following biblical verses, “ let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven” Matthew 5:16 “ you did not chose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last” John 15:16 The Lord has chosen us to go and bear fruit and fruit that will last. Bearing fruit is possible by doing good deeds, not for the affluent and rich, but for the poor and needy. When we do good deeds, people will recognize who we are and will recognize the one who sent us and will Praise Him. And that is what Sarah Ministries aims for….that everyone draws near Jesus and Praise our Father in Heaven! Geographical Spread Head quarters of Sarah Ministries is located at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. At present work is being carried on in Andhra Pradesh. Plans are being made to spread to other parts of India. On Going Activities • The Church of Renewal: At present bi-lingual services are conducted every Sunday at 5.30 pm. We desire that everyone coming to the Church of Renewal will renew themselves in the Spirit and follow the Lord with renewed zeal. • Bible Study: Bible studies are being conducted at different locations on Saturday evenings at 5.30pm in Hyderabad. • Children Ministry: Mrs. Niveditha looks after the children ministry. Kid’s camp is being planned to be held in the month of May 2008. • Fasting Prayers: Fasting prayers are held every Friday at the Church itself. • Evening school for slum children: Classes are being conducted for children living in slums, in and around of L.B.Nagar, Hyderabad. These children otherwise do not go to school and waste their, time whole day Legal Status Sarah Ministries is registered under the Societies Registration Act. |
