Paul was not silencing all women for all time to be silent in church, for the gospel was first preached by a woman on Resurrection Day. Mark 16:7
Paul was speaking to a specific church and a specific culture.
He was addressing order, for at that time there was undisciplined discussion disrupting the flow of service. 1 Corinthians 14: 34 & 35
Paul admonished women to learn, “Let a woman learn.” 1 Timothy 2:11 & 12
“In silence” does not mean mute but quietness, stillness, peaceable and not contentious.
The reason Paul admonished women to not have authority over a man, was because women in that culture in general were unlearned. They were not yet ready to lead, teach or to walk in authority. But Paul admonished them to learn. Authority is God given. We are not to usurp or take illegally authority that is not given to us by God, but if you have been given authority by God to lead then you should not diminish your position to fit a past cultural definition.
